Me and a work college were arrested 4 theft which we both denied?

we were arrested at a cash+carry for the value of 拢163. we were then bailed 4 times the only evidence that the police had was some finger prints from my college we both have been to court after 9months of sleepless nights all charges against me were dropped as my college pleaded guilty can i sue the cash+carry for negligance

My advice would be to quit whilst you are ahead. You clearly knew about the theft so I think you have no chance of success in any litigation.

what negligence? are you kidding? The police investigated and your mate got collared, maybe you were negligent for not 'grassing' on your mate. Forget the lawsuit and move on.

You can sue anyone but is it worth it. The proof in a civil court is lower tan in a criminal Court and you may well find the tables turned on you. Is it worth even more sleepless nights?
I think the defence would be that you initially had a case to answer. Many of your colleagues or ex-colleagues will regard you as having got away with it. If you lose it will only underline their opinions.

However you have not made it clear if it was your place of work or not.
Anyway forget it and move on.

You do not have to be guilty to be arrested, you only have to behave in a way that appears to offer reasonable suspicioun.

Being in the company of criminals when a crime is being committed would be enough.

If you knew of this at the time of the crime then you are guilty as well. Just be glad that the police let it drop after your mate stuck his hand up and buy him a drink.

The only area where you could look at is, was it your place of work and have you suffered any loss because of the arrest?
if you have then go to the union or your local CAB advice centre.

yes, and if you have copies of the police statements you can also sue for libel, try and find a no win no fee solicitor, good luck as well, dont let them get away with it
